The Spring, Summer, and Fall Series offer one design racing for a variety of centerboard style sailboats. The Bridge Race Series is a series of handicap races to the Oceanic Bridge and finishing right in front of the club. The races are approximately 5 miles from start to finish and provide racers with a great trip along the scenic Navesink river as well as some great competition.
The Frostbite and Laser Sunblister Series take place after our docks have been pulled for the winter. It may seem that it takes a real die hard sailor to want to spend their winter Sundays sailing but, when your doing it, there’s few places you’d rather be.
The Tuesday Evening Series is both hotly contested and casually enjoyed by many of the club’s sailors. Typically, the race committee runs as many races as they can between the first start at 6:30 and the approach of sundown. The wind has usually quieted to a gentle breeze by this time of day, so novice sailors find this a good opportunity to try their hands at racing.
MBC hosts several prominent regattas over the course of the year, including, but not limited to, the Lightning Long John Regatta, the Flying Scot Full Moon Regatta, and the New Years Day Regatta. The club also hosts one-design regattas on each of the the major summer holidays.
