We are pleased that you are interested in joining the Monmouth Boat Club (MBC). MBC was established in 1879 for the greater enjoyment of the Navesink River through a common interest in boating. It is an informal and friendly organization. The members are drawn together by a love of sailing, rowing, and power boating plus our many social activities at our historic clubhouse on the Navesink River.
You may apply to join MBC as either a Regular/Family or Junior member. A Junior Member is between the age of eighteen and twenty-three. MBC extends privileges to Junior members that include full 24-hour access to club facilities, the opportunity to participate in club events listed on our website calendar and eligibility to apply for use of the following facilities: locker, rack space, and yard space.
A Regular/Family membership is for individuals 24 or older, or for a family whose husband and/or wife is 24 years of age or older. A Family membership may also include sons or daughters who have not reached the age of 25. MBC extends privileges to Regular members that include full 24-hour access to club facilities, the opportunity to participate in club events listed on our website calendar, and full voting rights at our monthly General Membership meetings.
MBC is maintained entirely by its members. There is no full time staff, so membership includes both privileges and responsibilities. Responsibilities include ongoing participation in various work parties and events throughout the season and, if interested, as club supervisors and officers.
To take the next step towards becoming a member you must complete the attached application form, and have it signed and dated by two sponsors, who must be current club members in good standing. If you do not have sponsors let us know and we will help find these for you.

Your application will then be read into the minutes at the next General Meeting. Finally, your application will be voted on at a subsequent meeting of the General Membership where your Sponsors speak on your behalf. General meetings are held on the first Monday of the Month, March through December. So typically, the process takes several months to complete, but during this time, you are welcome to stop by the Club on the weekends during the boating season.
We welcome your application, and we look forward to getting to know you. Please begin by selecting your membership level:
