Temps were in the 30s. winds were gusting into the 20s and there were 4 Laser sailors just about ready to go home when Gene Spillane volunteered to do race committee.

Taylor Niles developed problems with his boat early and had to go in before finishing a race. Phil Angelo, Marc Gordon, and Thom Lee got two good races in on an olympic course set by Gene. Thom won both, Phil came in second in both and Marc finished both races in third.

At the wing mark of the third leg, a puff hit that sent Thom and Phil out of control and into a collision that ended Thom’s day. Just as Marc saw his opportunity to slide into 1st, his boom broke and the racing was done for the day.

Next week the Lasers are taking Easter Sunday off. There will be one last day for the series the following week.
