Unfortunately, the wind was too much wind for rowing this beautiful morning. Better luck to sailors later today.
Denis Farley and Pris Gettis sailed consistently and well with a second and a first, not an easy task on the river today. PRO Dale Barney would not be deterred by the light, shifty winds and managed 2 twice-around races in the afternoon as winds varied from east through the northwest. Winners of Race 1, John Luard and Toni Gahn, were second overall, followed by last year’s champs Bernard and Andree Friel. Fourth place trophy winners were Cole Barney and Koiley Saracool. Bob Markoff and Keith Petrosemolo won the challenger division, and NautiGals Lee Davidson and Jackie Cattanach finished second.
Congratulations Denis, Pris and all!

The winds were particularly flukey for the 19 boats that competed in the 2014 Memorial Day Regatta but Principal Race Officer Pat Corr still managed to get one race in.
Congratulations to Ted Duffy, Santo Pezzutti, and Me for winning the Lightning, Sanderling, and Flying Scot fleets respectively.
MBC members welcomed many wonderful people at the Open House on Saturday. They came to see inside the beautiful club house, to try a sailboat ride, or both. All found much to enjoy this holiday weekend and appreciated the great burgers and hotdogs, too.
Repeat sailors to buoy 21 noticed a big improvement this year for the osprey. Their nest no longer had to be built on a tilted platform thanks to an anonymous benefactor and the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ.
