We had another great frostbiting session last Sunday. Ten sailors raced in six competitive and exciting races in the light SW breeze that seemed to be more steady than the usual fluctuations we find sailing on the Navesink. The air temperature was in the 50s; even dry suits were optional.
Both John Surguy and Talbott Pratt kept their ironman streak alive by participating in six consecutive Sundays. That’s nearly 40 races each since the last weekend in October. Impressive!!!
While the racing was close throughout the day, Rob Gruskos edged out Chris Henkel and Mike Ehnot for top honors for the day. Two points separated the three sailors and it came down to a close finish in the final race to determine the day’s winner. Results should be available online later this week.

I think Fall Frostbiting at MBC officially ends on December 20th but there has been some discussion about extending the series one week to the 27th. Stay tuned!
I’ve also attached the NOR for the Laser New Year’s Day Regatta. Considering that we are getting 10+ boats every Sunday for frostbiting, I’m hoping we can attract a strong turnout from around the area. To help with attendance, we’ve made it a delayed start for those who like to sleep in or need to recover.
